报告摘要：

In this talk oriented to any undergraduate students, I will first review some creative ideas to resolve some outstanding problems in physics and then review some cutting-edge research directions. I will also share with students on my own research experiences on how to find a good Ph.D thesis advisor, identify an interesting research project, reading or not reading a research paper, listening or not listening to a research talk, going or not going to a conference, writing or not writing a research proposal. If time permitting, I will also sketch possible intrinsic relations between mathematics and Physics.

报告人简介：

Prof. Ye received Ph.D from Yale University (耶鲁大学). Currently, he is a chair professor at the newly found Great Bay university (大湾区大学) in Dongguan, Guangdong, China. 教育部重大人才工程讲习教授(2023), 教育部长江学者特聘教授(2009). He is a condensed matter theorist working on the interdisciplinary field of condensed matter, quantum optics, cold atoms, non-relativistic quantum field theory and conformal field theory. Recently, he has been particularly interested to explore possible deep connections among quantum/topological phases, Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev models and quantum black holes from material's point of views.
